For Clinics and Hospitals

DEC…

…improves patient care.
Patients with mental health and chemical use concerns are already in your emergency department or clinic. The DEC integrated behavioral system provides a standardized assessment tool for licensed mental health professionals to use in evaluating patients presenting in a behavioral crisis and to assist in determining the appropriate level of care. The DEC system also gives the user the ability to schedule outpatient appointments and electronically send information to providers involved in the patient's care. With proper consent, clinical information stored in the DEC system can be accessed by inpatient facilities, community programs and providers to ensure that all providers involved in a patients care have the most current clinical information needed in order to best treat the patient.

…minimizes risk.
The DEC integrated behavioral system provides tools to complete a comprehensive crisis assessment to help determine the appropriate level of care, to obtain immediate access to outpatient follow up, and to provide important clinical information to the provider or program who will be involved in the patient's ongoing care.

…reduces cost.
Patients who receive a comprehensive crisis evaluation by a licensed professional who has expertise in behavioral health and all levels of care associated with behavioral health will be recommended for appropriate services. In addition, immediate access to scheduled care for patients will result in a connection to an outpatient provider or program that can engage the patient to avoid the need for another emergency room visit or potentially a higher level of care.
