DEC…

…improves patient care. Your patients may find themselves in a behavioral or chemical crisis and present at a local emergency department. The DEC integrated behavioral system provides access for these patients to a licensed clinician who can determine the appropriate level of care. The DEC system provides advanced coordination of information by allowing immediate access to a patients assessment by behavioral providers, inpatient facilities and community programs. The patient may also be scheduled for follow up through the use of the SchedulR. Once scheduled, the patients clinical information is immediately present at the practitioners office.

…minimizes risk. DEC licensed clinicians collaborate with emergency department physicians, nurses and other ED staff in making the disposition determination and also attempt to communicate with the patients established providers in order to gather necessary clinical information. Access to past crisis assessments done at other DEC locations is also possible.

…reduces cost. Through the use of licensed clinicians and the DEC assessment tool, unnecessary admissions are reduced and patients are connected to the appropriate level of care.
